Main Purpose of the role:
The role will lead collaboratively Lotus’s capability in development for its architectures and functional control systems targeting the business next generation EV platforms – the role will deliver into Lotus’ and 3rd Party Engineering vehicle programmes.
Role Objectives
The key responsibilities, accountabilities and activities of the role
(5 to 10 areas) Objectives of the role are to develop Lotus’ EV in house capability in distributed control systems for all aspects of its EV platforms following a requirement driven V cycle and System Engineering approach
• Decomposing vehicle attributes and top-level requirements into system, sub-system and validation requirements by working in combination with other domain experts around your systems
• Driving development of system requirements through the V cycle with internal and external suppliers
• Taking ownership of the complete system, being prepared to undertake all levels of engineering detail on any given system
• Seeing development through the full cycle from inception to sign-off and production
• Collaborating with design and development partners around the world to deliver best in class scalable control capabilities

Who will this role interact with, what are the challenges of the relationships and the communication strategies required, etc Key stakeholders will be the Body Electrical, Chassis, Vehicle Dynamics, Attributes, Propulsion and Power Electronics teams, who you will be delivering systems to based on their system requirements
Scope
Depth, breath of knowledge application, ability to innovate, complexity of tasks, budgetary responsibility. The scope of the role requires a wide breath of knowledge in system engineering in the chassis and EV control domains for production vehicles. Knowledge of Chassis controls including driver demand management, torque control, traction control, ESP, torque vectoring all beneficial
Person Profile
Knowledge
Essential:
• EV Control systems Development
• System engineering approach for complex systems impacting many areas of the vehicle
• Full cycle development from concept to production
• Experience with Requirements driven V-Cycle approach
• Experience decomposing attributes and vehicle requirements into System and sub-system requirements
• Experience writing software requirements
• Experience with system validation and development of Design Verification Methods
• Experience in requirements capture and management (IBM Doors, Polarion, System Weaver)
• Detailed knowledge of electrical systems, architecture required
• Knowledge of software engineering process
• Supplier management and project delivery
Desirable:
• Control system development
• Chassis control systems development
• Body control systems development
• Detailed knowledge of networking protocols
• Knowledge of System design tools (Davinci, Enterprise architect)
• Experience of Model based systems engineering
