<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Role purpose 

To assemble & fit component parts, to the required quality standard, using a variety of hand or power tools & related equipment. To support supervision & other operators with future build rates.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Roles and responsibilities

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strict adherence to process controls is essential to ensure product meets specification
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Able to understand and follow basic operating instructions and carry out process checks using Vernier’s and plug gauges
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Picking & inspecting components to a set bill of materials
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Fitting of various fixings into specified holes in child parts
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assemble parts into various sub-assembly and main assembly fixtures
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Carry out pre-delivery inspection in line with electronic instructions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Safely operate crane/lifting equipment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintain written records & process control sheets, etc.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be at place of work at specified times
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Meet quality and production targets as set by Supervision
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines, including housekeeping of fixtures and surrounding area
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Use all supplied Personal Protective Equipment & maintain in good condition
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Follow Company environmental standards, including segregation of all waste
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure documented processes are followed at all times.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To complete tasks in the allocated time
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To be able to work in a structured manner
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Understand the need & work within the Company's flexible working patterns
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Willing to learn new production techniques & processes
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To have the ability & willingness to work as part of a team

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Candidates may also be required to work in other production areas or assist in other activities that they are deemed to be capable


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Essential criteria 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good understanding of English language required to follow written and verbal instruction
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Productive worker with solid work ethic, flexible, adaptable & diligent
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good basic mechanical skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to work under strict time allocation
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good hand to eye co-ordination


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Desirable 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">C&G, NVQ or similar, with automotive or assembly elements. Background in garage or assembly line environment. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Worked in the automotive sector or in a similar environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge of torque wrenches and critical elements of vehicle construction.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Candidates with limited previous experience will receive training to meet the required standard.

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Training will be held at the Lotus Lightweight Structures, Worcester
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Training is essential and travel will be required for a minimum of 8 weeks – all travel and subsistence with be paid for in advance
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Future permanent role location is Hurricane Way, Norwich, Norfolk
