To lead a team in an OEM with great heritage, delivering a product of high performance and quality, ensuring that process is adhered to and a safe system of work is maintained.


Role and responsibilities 


  • Perform regular risk assessments and safety audits, maintain records on the relevant H&S system.
  • Ensure adherence to process & standardised operations verified through audit.
  • Drive improved quality through utilisation of problem solving & continuous improvement methods, preventing faults forward and establishing robust resolution of defects.
  • Improve efficiencies through reduction of waste and improvement methods.
  • Organise absence cover & maintain skill matrices and training logs to develop a flexible, cross functional team.
  • Support & encourage team to ensure key performance indicators are achieved in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure timely escalation of concerns to ensure production efficiency.
  • Attention to housekeeping as per 5s with focus on correct handling & storage of parts.
  • Communicate company & operational requirements to team when required.
  • Promote company values & key behaviours.
  • To build relationships with material support functions; logistics and supply chain, supplier quality assurance & production quality.
  • Building inter departmental relationships with people concerned with parts, process and quality.


Skills required


  • Previous team leader experience in manufacturing with focus on delivering quality.
  • NVQ in manufacturing or equivalent
  • Driven
  • Good communicator

  • Prepared to change shift patterns to support production.
