About the Role:

The role involves Prototype manufacturing or building & prototype development or testing.

This may involve shift working and/or working off site.

The ideal candidate will be required to develop the delivery of the engineering workshops to, support the programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• To discuss the project with Supervision and Project Engineers, to determine tasks and objectives (including timing) and hence be able to organise the project workload in conjunction with Project Engineers.
• To be fully conversant with the requirements of the job and be able to take clear written or verbal instructions and perpetrate it, in accordance with Project Demands.
• To be able to organise a group effort and lead others.
• To be responsible for the specific allocated area of a manufacture / strip / build / test Project or Programme.
• To carry out all tasks as efficiently / effectively as possible, in conjunction with other Staff / Areas.
• To be able to analyse Problems and Results in basic formats and give general constructive deduction to the Project engineer/Customer.
• To be able to write a Report or present Results, to satisfy Project requirements.
• To be able to conduct oneself in a reasonable and responsible manner, towards other staff and the customer.
• To be able to liaise with customers/suppliers either in personal situations or meetings, thus representing the company as an ambassador.
• To travel to customers / supplier’s premises and carry out normal duties to satisfy customers / projects requirements, whether supervised or not.
• To ensure individual tasks are delivered to programme costs and timings.
• To prioritise workload, to deliver programmes to time constraints.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

• B.TEC - National or Equivalent
• Some Automotive experience

Desirable:  

• NVQ level 2
• BTEC - Higher National or Equivalent     
• Extensive Automotive experience and a recorded Apprenticeship
• Experience of working within a team, in an Engineering Workshop Environment
• Team participative and Self Motivated
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic Ability - Windows Driving
• CLAIT - RSA Computer Literate
