Metrology Inspector 



Rotating day and twilight shift


About the role 

We are looking for a Metrology inspector to join our team! This role requires the successful candidate to measure components & assemblies with limited supervision in accordance with the control plan; and provide technical guidance to the Operations Team and Manufacturing Engineering. This will be done using a combination of CMM, Mobile arm and other metrology tools. The ability to work on own initiative and provide fast professional analysis/feedback. Attention to detail and the capability to communicate in a clear, objective manner is key. In a growing and expanding Dept the vision is to provide accurate & timely results, whilst supporting the changing demands of the stakeholder departments, reacting quickly to their requests for support. You will manage differing priorities and find solutions to complex and unique measurement activities in a fast paced environment.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support measurement against detailed components 2D drawings and 3D CAD.
  • Aid in the measurement and validation of production jigs and fixtures.
  • Deliver the control plan, measuring parts and assemblies to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Produce professional, detailed measurement analysis & reports on production and prototype components. 
  • Operate, program and problem solve on our suite of CMMs.
  • Represent Lotus and the Quality Dept in a professional manner to suppliers and technology partners.


Please note: this role will be on a rotating shift, 1 week day shift (6am - 4pm) and 1 week twilight shift (4pm - 1.30am). 


Knowledge, Skills and Experience



  • ONC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience of 2D and 3D measurement techniques and equipment
  • Working knowledge of tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of manual inspection tools
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Experience in working in a Metrology environment
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and terminology
  • Experience in Camio & CMM programming
  • Experience in Powerinspect & Mobile Inspection arms.
