Role is based on-site at Hethel.

Needs to be able to travel/drive to subsidiary sites/suppliers.

Flexible working options.

On call support  – as this is a key role in supporting the production processes for Lotus. 


Role Description

The role will provide technical support to all users of the Logistics Execution/Manufacturing Execution and the Supplier Relationship management systems.  Both MES and LES will be business critical IT Products that are supporting the Lotus operations. It is therefore critical that this role can effectively provide hands on support to the operations and support the delivery of the associated Service Level agreements.

This is a unique opportunity to influence an new LES/MES deployment in an automotive OEM.


  • Provision of Technical hands on support at the 3rd Level.  Trouble shoot operational user, software and hardware incidents.
  • Close collaboration with the IT Service Desk in order to ensure that L1/L2 support understand the implications, have the necessary training in order to implement fixes at this level, know when to escalate etc.
  • Support the business in the effective use LES/MES/SRM and its associated middleware/peripherals.
  • Technical Subject Matter Expert for the IT solutions in this space (supported by Linux expert)
  • Support and direct 3rd parties and Group resources to ensure that SLA’s are met/beaten
  • Support the technical aspects of building the Lotus IT Product Roadmaps for these solutions
  • Support the business in moving to more frequent releases of software/solutions with minimal impacts and reduced defect levels – assurance of the version control and release management processes
  • Support the business in ensuring adequate User Acceptance testing and end user training

  • Customers: Business Owners (manufacturing, supply chain, procurement etc) – introducing new technologies
  • Collaborate & Inform: IT Colleagues, suppliers
  • Coach: IT Service Desk Colleagues, business users
  • Suppliers: Group IT – challenge will be striking the balance between what is good for Lotus and best practice at the Group Level


Role Scope

  • Knowledge of Logistics Execution and Manufacturing Execution IT Systems
  • Complex landscape of integration/middleware and dependent end peripherals – strong technical knowledge required.
  • Ability to use configuration to overcome operational problems that potentially impact all areas of Lotus’ Business
  • Strong Collaboration with the Corporate IT team who will retain overall ownership of the applications


Essential Criteria

  • Technical qualifications: Linux/OracleDB/Windows/SQL/ Middleware
  • Experience of supporting LES/MES or SRM type solutions in an automotive/engineering environment
  • IT Service Management- ITIL
  • IT Integration (Technical support)
  • Technical support/deployment of Peripheral hardware (eg Scanners/tablets/printers/TV etc.)
