Title:  EEI Electrical Lead Technician - contingent

EEI Electrical Lead Technician- Fixed term 6 months Contractor Inside IR35 - Wellesbourne

 

Responsible for carrying out Electrical rework to support Lab Cars and development vehicle on various Lotus programme. This is including fault finding and upgrading vehicle harness. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure.
  • Support for Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support supplier or function owner to fix harness and wiring defect situation and join for necessary discussion. Collaborative working with EEI Project Leaders to achieve good quality system.
  • Direct report to Electrical workshop supervisor
  • Regular interaction with the chief, lead engineers and integration Engineers within each engineering commodity both within Lotus group. 

 

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Wiring harness assembly using hand tools & proper assembly techniques
  • Follow work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
  • Quality validation of wire harness assemblies
  • Tear down and/or rework of donor harnesses
  • Experienced in Vehicle wiring
  • Experienced in Vehicle PC diagnostic tools and Software updates
  • Experience in harness crimping, soldering and de-pinning
  • Full understanding of electrical schematics & circuit diagrams
  • EV trained (to work on HV and LV)
  • Able to work within and foster a collaborative team environment. 
  • Positive attitude towards change and willing to embrace changes to process in the pursuit of more effective and efficient ways of working.
  • Work in small teams to complete daily build requirements
  • Inventory tracking of project parts and supplies
  • Flexible and can work across multiple projects 
  • Full UK driving licence
     

 

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Networks: CAN, LIN, A2B.  Tools:  CANalyzer / CANoe  
  • Comfortable presenting information at a senior level, reporting on progress.

  • Join and support regional UK & EU testing including to the suppliers
  • Occasional Working on weekend and outside working hours
