Chief Engineer - Infotainment - Permanent Role - Location: Dual site role between Wellesbourne, Warwickshire & Hethel, Norfolk


This is a unique opportunity to join our senior electrical engineering team to manage and oversee the design and development of Lotus Cars Vehicle infotainment systems from concept to production. Fresh ideas and a creative approach to Infotainment Development will be needed to thrive in this role. The main focus for this role will be planning resources, assignments, department output, and budget. You'll also oversee People Development through mentoring, training plans, goal setting, and performance appraisals. This is a role with a key influence on the future strategy of Lotus Cars Infotainment domain and will help support our long term plan of delivering a pure driving experience for our customers. 


Day to day responsibilities include;

  • Working closely with the Electrical Engineering Managers and PMO.
  • Provide technical excellence with regard to Infotainment Systems and Software.
  • Managing different teams in your area running in an effective and productive way.
  • Analyze and create project requirements, definitions and processes with project leaders for each project.
  • Develop project plans and effectively communicate timing and critical paths
  • Assess project needs and take initiative to determine solutions.
  • Guide and facilitate project objectives.
  • Work closely with your team to create an environment of collaboration and facilitation. 
  • Arrange testing resource and setup
  • Work cross-functionally with other engineering departments, quality, Man Eng to create solutions focussed approaches to project challenges.
  • Work with all departments to ensure that goals of each team are met and expectations are communicated.
  • Coach and assist team members with their targets.
  • Coordinate and manage external suppliers and supplier activities related to the projects


Skills & Experience we're looking for: 

  • Extensive experience in Engineering product development and project management
  • Specific Infotainment focussed experience with knowledge and experience of software development and hardware verification. 
  • Strong project management skills, gained from OEM / Tier 1 supplier infotainment project roles.
  • Experience in team management, organising resource plans and project timings
  • Proven track record of delivery in the above domains
  • Ideally OEM / Tier 1 Infotainment team leadership experience or infotainment project leader with experience managing a team
  • Strong communication skills in a remote working/ multi-site working environment


This role is split across our sites in Hethel, Norfolk and Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. It will be a requirement for you to travel between these sites multiple times a month or as required to undertake testing, attend key milestone reviews and meet with team members/ other departments. We will support you with travel between these sites
