Title:  SBOM Engineer

To provide voice of customer input into future vehicle programmes, ensuring that all aftersales functions and opportunities are appropriately considered. The role will be key liason between Engineering and ASO.


Role responsibilities 


  • Act as first point of contact between Aftersales (ASO) and Engineering Design.
  • Attend all applicable scheduled meetings and product gateways for new model introduction, representing ASO.  Ensure all gateway requirements are achieved on time.
  • Feedback, escalate and help plan for those issues that demand ASO intervention and action.
  • Identify and establish ASO actions in support of new model introduction.
  • Liaise with the relevant in house departments as and when required to deliver ASO readiness requirements e.g. serviceability/repair/cost of ownership etc.
  • Identify accessory oportunities and assist with their development/introduction to market.
  • Generate and report on progress and readiness on a regular basis to senior management.
  • Liaise and assist with all aspects of Technical Training, Technical Publications and Field Service Engineer preparations in readiness of new product launch.
  • Identify and generate requirements for service parts, spare parts product structure and precurement of said parts for ASO stock in readiness for new product launch, including verification of supplier contracts and assured supply, post series production.


Essential critea


  • 'A'-level standard education, with additional relevant vocational qualifictions
  • Vehicle Engineering or OEM After-sales experience
  • PC literate, numeric, accurate and thorough, must 'finish what is started'.


Desirable critea 


  • Engineering Degree
  • Similiar position in another OEM
