About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity at Lotus Cars USA for a talented Health & Safety Manager to help us manage our safety program. This position will cover facilities in the following states: Texas and Michigan. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development of regional safety strategy that aligns with the strategic objectives of the company.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Facilitate and conduct training and safety meetings
  • Assess and develop safety programs in partnership with Global Health & Safety Team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, and other environmental health, safety, and loss prevention standards.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in the implementation of company initiatives and development of policies, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Support local initiatives to drive the safety culture and support the company’s “safety first” philosophy.
  • Partners with the company’s operations personnel in the development of effective risk control strategies to reduce and eliminate exposures to loss.
  • Monitor progress, ensure delivery of, and facilitate key training programs including but not limited to new hire, refresher and management training in the areas of safety/proactive risk management.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure the property is kept up
  • Address any building maintenance issues 
  • Understands and manages the business insurance to mitigate risk for the company. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be familiar with OSHA regulations 
  • Must be available for after-hours calls and/or responses for emergencies
  • EV experience preferred 

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene)
  • Relevant training and/or certifications in safety and OSHA programs.
  • Experience creating safety procedures in an engineering center and parts warehouse.  


Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to safely perform the duties of the position without posing a threat to the health and safety of themselves and others 
  • Will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs; and occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, climb ladders, reach above, at and below shoulder height, lift up to 100 lbs, and carry over 100 lbs. 
  • Occasionally required to report to callback/emergency calls, work in temperatures below 40 degrees or greater than 80 degrees, work in confined spaces, and occasionally exposed to airborne particles, blood, bodily fluids or blood borne pathogens, toxic or corrosive chemicals, exposed electric wiring or components, or noxious odors.
